Sold out: CryptoCloaks no longer sells this BitAxe Gamma 601. This page is kept for owners looking up the model and for shoppers comparing home Bitcoin miners. The old price and shipping promises do not apply.
BitAxe Gamma 601: the basics
The Gamma 601 is an open-source desktop Bitcoin miner built around the BM1370 ASIC. Its hardware project and firmware are documented by the Bitaxe community. The 1.2 TH/s and 17W figures associated with our former listing were advertised operating figures, not a measurement of every unit; actual hashrate and power depend on settings, cooling, and the power supply. It uses SHA-256 to mine Bitcoin. Mining is probabilistic, and running a miner does not guarantee a block, profit, or a fixed payback period.
For the chip, board files, assembly notes and current project details, see the Bitaxe Gamma project. Check the revision and your own hardware before following a guide or buying a replacement part.
Looking for a miner we sell now?
The Gamma 601 is unavailable here. The Hammer Miner BC01 is a current desktop Bitcoin miner in our shop. It is a different product, not a drop-in Gamma replacement. Check its own listing for current price, stock, included parts and power requirements before ordering. You can also browse our Home Mining gear.
Gamma 601 owner questions
Which ASIC does the Gamma use?
The Bitaxe Gamma project specifies the BM1370. Earlier text on this page named the wrong chip; that has been corrected.
Can I still buy a Gamma 601 from CryptoCloaks?
No. This listing is sold out. Please use the current product page of any alternative miner to confirm its exact specifications and availability.
Will a stand for another BitAxe board fit?
Do not assume it will. Check the exact board revision, mounting holes, cooler and cable clearance before ordering a stand or printing one.
